Our sustainable serving boards are crafted from reclaimed European pine. Each of our serveware pieces are hand finished with a plant-based hardwax, composed of a carnauba and beeswax blend, built to endure the everyday wear and tear of life. By applying the non-toxic and food-safe finish to our products, it provides the piece with one of the most natural looking finishes available; the finish will also preserve the true beauty and patina of the wood and natural grain. To prevent and resolve surface stains, we recommend wiping the surface clean with a damp cloth and avoiding abrasive cleaning products.
Please note that all serving boards are not intended to be used as cutting boards, except for our hardwood, oak charcuterie boards. If you are looking for a board to cut and chop on, please use our hardwood cutting boards.
Our cutting boards are constructed from reclaimed European hardwood. With consistent care, the life of the board will be extended. To clean and sanitize your cutting board, wash all surfaces with a mild dish soap and warm water and allow it to air dry. At least once a month, apply with a soft cloth an even coat of etúHOME’s butcher block conditioner or a food grade mineral oil to all surfaces of the cutting board. Do not put in the dishwasher, soak it in water or use vegetable oil as it can go rancid.
Our recycled glass accents are organic in design and artisan crafted. The mouth blown technique is emphasized by the possibility of waves, bubbles and imperfections displayed on our glass accents. Hand wash with care or wipe with a soft, damp cotton cloth.
When cleaning embellished and painted glass accents, hand wash with care. We recommend that you do not use liquid cleansers, glass cleaner, soap or abrasive agents containing alcohol on the embellished or painted areas of your etúHOME glass accent. For best care, simply wipe area clean with a damp cloth. To maintain the integrity of your glass accents, do not soak pieces with painted bottoms or let them stand in water.
Our ceramics collection is hand crafted from white European clay. From beginning to end, each piece requires approximately 35 hours of work During the process, our handthrown pottery and bakeware are fired twice in a precision-controlled electric oven. Crazing will typically occur during the first fire. This is a desired effect to enhance the individuality of each piece. Crazing does not affect the quality or durability of the item. etúHOME’s ceramic collection is oven, dishwasher and microwave safe.
Our candles contain the finest essential oils created in Grasse, France. The oils are hand mixed with a blend of high-quality mineral and vegetal waxes. Before lighting your etúHOME candle, trim the wick to ¼ inch allowing the candle to burn more slowly. The first time the candle is lit, allow it to burn until the entire surface liquefies so that the candle burns evenly. In order to extend the fragrance output of each candle, do not light it for more than four hours at a time. After blowing out the candle, re-center and straighten the wick.
