Take Navy To The Next Level
Sweet summertime brings a mix of emotions for us over here at etúHOME. While we’re all jumping for joy over the warm Atlanta weather, we also feel a familiar feeling that we know other décor enthusiasts often feel. It hits us every season, some worse than others, and you know just what it is? A bug. A home decorating - make you go all out and buy every seasonal decorative item – bug. We can’t help that the changing of the seasons ignites something in us that calls us to makeover our spaces. It’s exciting and fun to see the new items that launch with the changing of seasons and we can’t help but incorporate them into our homes. While summer is drifting into the distance, there’s one color we know canbe brought into any season, and it’s none other than, navy.
Navy is essentially the new neutral. It can be paired ith a variety of patterns, colors and metals to achieve any desired look. When paired with white, navy can look more feminine, and can also border on a nautical inspired look. While navy blue can be seen as traditional and elegant, it can also be juxtaposed with rattan décor and come across as bohemian and eclectic. Not only this, but navy exerts a bright and calming energy – perfect for any space from living rooms to kitchens.
We love the subtle use of navy blue in Sarah’s living room from Life on Virginia Street. The charming use of the color gives the room dimension without taking away from the clean white space. The cozy couch and the delicate throw blanket against the blue pillow, truly make the room appear welcoming and fun. Adding in navy décor is as easy as this, simply incorporating a throw pillow or even a glass jar like our Navy Colorblock Mason Jar.
